SUSSEX CBRDP


One of the first Counties in England to fully combine development of Youth Rugby in Clubs & Schools The Sussex CBRDP (Constituent Body Rugby Development Partnership),
under the Chairmanship of Martin Eley,  has overall responsibility 
for the strategic planning, co-ordination and management of Youth Rugby both at School and Club level, including all representative rugby and player development.

THE RUGBY UNION DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

Responsible for promoting and developing the game across the County.    In delivering these aims, Rugby development staff work to an annual managerial plan in assisting Clubs and Schools  to increase participation, providing opportunities to develop coaching skills and to increase playing performance.

THE RUGBY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The work of the Rugby Development Officer, who is responsible to the RFU, is overseen by the
Rugby Development Officer Management Committee
chaired by David Fisher and includes representatives from Sussex RFU, Sussex Clubs,
 Sussex Schools, County, Unitary and District authorities and the Rugby Football Union.

YOUTH MANAGEMENT GROUP PLAYING COMMITTEE

takes responsibility for administering all County and District squads from Under 13 to Under 18 and initiating and reviewing all player development coaching and team management programmes.

DISCIPLINE FOR CLUB AND SCHOOL YOUTH PLAYERS

is dealt with by the Youth Discipline Secretary Dr. R.C. Edmondson.  The procedures and sanctions appears on this site on  The Junior discipline page  and are also printed in the County Handbook.

TRANSFER OF YOUTH PLAYERS

is regulated by with the Sussex RFU/Sussex Schools RFU protocol and appears on this site on the 'Selected Rules & Regulations page and are also printed in the County Handbook  

THE SUSSEX CLUBS YOUTH FORUM

Administers the Youth Game at Club level including the Mini/Midi continuum.  
Runs inter-Club Leagues, Knock-out competitions and a Sussex Mini/Midi Festival.

CHILD PROTECTION - YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ALL SUSSEX CLUBS  must have a Child Protection Policy and have appointed a Child Protection Officer.   It is important that all players are protected and kept safe from physical, sexual and emotional harm while they are with the club's coaches, helpers and other volunteers.
