 District Player Development Programme

All Sussex Schools
All Sussex Clubs (Junior Sections)

Building on the success of last season new look, District Player Development Programme (DPDP), Sussex RFU are now seeking nominations for the 2008 Summer DPDP.

Nominations are invited from ALL Schools and Clubs
and should be made using the nomination form.

The Summer DPDP is aimed at those players demonstrating an above average standard of Handling, Running and Contact skills.

The programme is designed at assessing and developing these attributes and forwarding those players of appropriate standard on to the County Development squad. It is unlikely that Schools or Clubs will have more than a handful of players in this category, in the past Clubs have nominated over 20 players per age group, resulting in many players being disappointed when they fail to meet the standards required.

It is recognised that all players, particularly those at these ages, require developing, but this programme is targeting the top 20% and therefore 5 or 6 from a club or school would be regarded as the exception and not the norm.

The Programme is run over 4 centres, one per Rugby Development Partnership area.
