What is the Active Sports Programme ? Active Sports Overview Coaches Benefits to Clubs

WHAT IS THE ACTIVE SPORTS PROGRAMME ?

A national sporting initiative known as 
'ACTIVE SPORTS' 

This is a lottery-funded scheme where certain sports, including Rugby 
have been targeted for delivery of coaching within a number of schools.

  A number of Clubs and officials have been wondering how this affects Sussex and over the summer we have been working closely with those Clubs identified for Year One activities, along with their respective sports development officers.

With delivery imminent, we can now give details of how the system works and where Clubs enter the scheme.    A full information package has been sent to all identified Clubs and Sussex Officials.    The full programme and all details are available from:

  Overview
1.     Club AS co-ordinators to identify Club coaches for delivery
2.     Club to identify Schools
        2 x delivery centres plus additional surrounding schools
3.     RDO & AS co-ordinator to contact schools - Info pack with Club details etc.
4.     RDO/AS co-ordinator and Clubs to arrange dates for delivery
        5 sessions @ school delivery centres
        Tournament - Schools invited to participate 
        5 sessions within Club environment

      Identified Coaches not already within Clubs

       work of Club Coaches.

       Aim is to integrate these Coaches within Clubs
       (i.e.) they become active members. 

Note: Clubs will have to sign a delivery agreement/contract with Sussex RFU and Sussex Partnership
